TRADITIONAL MONGOLIAN MEDICINE: TWO WEEKS CULTURAL IMMERSION AND STUDY TRIP WITH KAMBA LAMA DR. NATSAGDORJ

Dr. Tony Lu will be leading a group to Mongolia (Outer Mongolia) in July 2005, to study traditional Mongolian medicine. The principal instructor will be the Medicine Lama of Mongolia – the highest ranking physician in the country. Dates are June 30 departure through July 16 return.   • FRI 7/1 Lay over on the way to Ulaanbaatar
  • SAT 7/2 Arrived in Ulaanbaatar. Visit Manba Datsan, the Mongolian traditional medicine training center
    • Opening ceremony. Overnight in hotel (Ulaanbaatar)
    • Lecture 1: Introduction to Mongolian history, culture and Buddhism
    • Lecture 2: Health system in Mongolia
  • SUN 7/3 Leave for countryside and visit the International Training and Healing Center
    • Lecture 3: Eight medicine Buddha's healing
    • Lecture 4: Practice of medicine Buddha's meditation and chanting
    • Lecture 5: To give LUN (lineage secret of the Tantra Mantra eight medicine Buddha)
    • Evening meditation practice. Overnight in ger tourist camp (Gachuurt)
  • MON 7/4 Morning meditation
    • Lecture 6: Introduction to traditional Mongolian medicine
    • Lecture 7: Mongolian tongue and pulse diagnoses
    • Lecture 8: Intro to Mongolian herbal medicine I. Travel to countryside to pick herbs with Dr. N
    • Evening meditation practice. Overnight in ger tourist camp (Gachuurt)
  • TUE 7/5 Morning meditation
    • Lecture 9: Introduction to Mongolian healing oils
    • Lecture 10: Mongolian application of acupuncture and moxibustion
    • Lecture 11: Intro to Mongolian herbal medicine II. Travel to countryside to pick herbs with Dr. N
    • Evening meditation practice. Overnight in ger tourist camp (Gachuurt)
  • WED 7/6 Travel to Khustai National Park to see the wild horses
    • Lecture 12: Introduction to Mongolian astrological reading
    • Overnight in ger tourist camp (Khustai)
  • THU 7/7 Drive to Erdenezuu monastery in Kharhorum, ancient capital of the great Mongolian      empire. Evening meditation practice. Overnight in ger tourist camp (Kharhorum)
  • FRI 7/8   Visit Erdenezuu monastery, Kharkorum and Khan's statue of the Mongolian empire
    • Lecture 13: Introduction to Mongolian healing stones and minerals
    • Evening meditation practice. Overnight in ger tourist camp (Kharhorum)
  • SAT 7/9   Drive to Elsen Tasarkhai, part of the great Mongolian Gobi desert. Visit Ovgonii Khiid temple
    • See natural herbs. Overnight in tourist camp (Elsen Tasarkhai)
  • SUN 7/10 Morning meditation/Return to Ulaanbaatar
    • Afternoon free time for shopping. Overnight in hotel (Ulaanbaatar)
  • MON 7/11 Experience Naadam festival, the Mongolian national celebration with competition events   in horseback racing, wrestling and archery. Pinic with Mongolian food and drinks
    • Overnight in hotel (Ulaanbaatar)
  • TUE 7/12 Free time. Healing massage. See a revue of traditional Mongolian music and dance
  • WED 7/13 Morning meditation. Visit Gandan monastery and museum. Overnight in hotel (Ulaanbaatar)
  • THU 7/14 Morning meditation
    • Chanting and blessing ceremony/Graduation ceremony
    • Afternoon freetime for shopping/Farewell dinner. Overnight in hotel (Ulaanbaatar)
  • FRI 7/15 Return to USA

All inclusive (land only in Mongolia) $2100, single supplement $300. Hotel during lay-over on 7/1 not included.
